Bio

Hi there. I’m David Rickles, an award winning Creative Director and Motion Graphic Artist.

I was born a curious problem solver. Growing up, I was the kid taking things apart and putting them back together, building with Legos, and figuring out code. Understanding the way things work—truly anything—fascinates me and is the foundation for my passions.

I love the intersection between technology and art. And I find the challenge of solving “how” to be a center-point of my creativity. Unique ideas always come with several “hows,” and failing to solve them is usually where the compromising starts. But this is where I get excited. The technical should never stand in the way of imagination, and it’s where I’m at my best.

When I’m not working for studios, I like to explore. And with the learnings of those explorations, I like to educate. I am fortunate to have partnered with the School of Motion to provide some tutorials, and I am working to put together a YouTube channel and Patreon to share both what I know and my approach to the work and this business.

I believe in collaboration. That success comes from multiple minds believing in and working towards success. And I love to establish a culture of positivity and support…. We can only reach the mountain top if we go together.

I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have the good fortune to work with clients worldwide.
